Why did you choose this TV/movie couple and what’s your fascination with them?
Janine and Gregory are a sweet couple that you want to root for throughout their entire will-they-won’t-they situation. Not to mention all the patterns and jokes they inspire.
Describe your design in detail.
Janine’s statement wardrobe prompted the lively pattern play carried across the suite. But episode easter eggs are hidden throughout, from the It’s Always Sunny energy tucked into the welcome party card to the iconic couple’s costume camouflaged on the website card to the motivational mural moment on the interior envelope. And it wouldn’t be Gregory’s wedding without the Garden Goofballs and some buttered noodles!
To celebrate the City of Brotherly Love, I wrote Philly slang into the RSVP responses, gave a shout out to the beloved mascot Gritty, selected symbolic postage and set the rehearsal dinner at the local date night hotspot. Familiar elementary school imagery – ruled paper, a mini pencil embellishment, the bus traveling along the border of the envelope – was strategically placed but subtle so as not to feel too youthful. Altogether, these layered details create a wedding invitation suite that is both whimsical and deeply rooted in the world of Abbott Elementary.
