A Marriage in Music City
For Cate and Connor, marrying atop the rolling hills of her family’s Misty River Farm outside Nashville was a lifelong dream. And Cheree Berry Paper & Design was over the full moon to help them realize their romantic vision. Eschewing rustic provincial for refined whimsical, we created a visual ode to this couple’s warm nature, the shared passions that bound them together and the special place central to their love story.
BRANDED FROM THE GINGKO
From the beginning of the design process, we established an authentically Cate-and-Connor aesthetic through a series of marks, symbolic patterning and seasonal materials. Deckled edges and dried natural elements that felt plucked from the farm itself became as much a part of the visual identity as the gingko leaf motif, musical themes or custom patchwork pattern. Together with a loose script and watercolor illustration style, we achieved a slightly bohemian but ever sophisticated quality that radiated C+C energy.
THE OVERTURE
Our initial guest touchpoint hit all the right notes! Starting with the linen mailer all the way down to the final piece of petal paper, this grommeted save the date was like peeling back layer after layer of tactile delight. A sprig of dried baby’s breath – in the bride’s signature sunny yellow – and a dreamy watercolor landscape initiated a strong sense of place, while the original verse and vellum sheet music sentimentally nodded to the couple’s love of singing and songwriting that first brought them together.
Designing our wedding print was so much more creative and fun than we ever thought it would be. We knew our save the dates and invitations would set the tone for the entire wedding; we wanted them to be unique, beautiful, represent the landscape of the farm, and really feel like us. CBP helped us create exactly what we wanted and more; no detail was spared. Our guests were blown away. We heard from many that they had never received anything more beautiful and that everything felt just like Connor and me. That is exactly what we wanted; we were so happy.

HEAD OVER HILLS IN LOVE
The print invitation beckoned to recipients right out of the farm’s front gate. Upon opening the watercolor wrap bundled with frayed velvet ribbon, guests glimpsed familiar Misty River landmarks and a rendering of that hilltop Cate had pinpointed years before as the place she would say “I do.” Pops of copper foil and a golden velvet envelope liner carried the peak fall foliage foreshadowing across the suite, while subtly scattered ginkgo leaves – pressed and letterpressed! – and music notations created harmony between the print pieces.
BLOWN AWAY ON THE BIG DAY
We designed the reception’s escort installation to feel as though a gentle breeze had rustled ginkgo leaves from nearby trees and blown them inside the stunning greenhouse-style tent. Recalling the natural element tucked in the invitation and the understated recurrence of musical notation, we composed a memorable visual refrain.
MISTY RIVER MERRIMENT
The trove of branded assets we created manifested across every event over the course of the weekend, from the lakeside rehearsal dinner and full moon rendezvous to the wedding ceremony and celebration. Whether employing the C+C emblem as welcome note cover art, revisiting the grommeted format for the ceremony program or covering matchboxes in the patchwork pattern, we ensured every day-of design emitted that enchanting Fair flair.
