MATCH MADE IN MANHATTAN

When it came to their wedding, it was New York or nowhere for Manhattanites Maya and Ben. This cosmopolitan couple envisioned the city at the very heart of an old-world glam-meets-modern romance aesthetic. Enter Cheree Berry Paper & Design and our suite of stationery so chic it would have made the Rat Pack croon.

To visually interpret the concrete jungle through the wedding invitation, we put the “chrome” in “monochromatic.” Pale gray paper, charcoal letterpress and gunmetal foil stamping blended to evoke that dream-like composition of a 60s film. Combined with a trio of lush velvet, raw silk, and moiré that elevated and softened the edges of the tonal palette, we emulated the essence of cool, quiet luxury.

New York City-themed invitation suite by Cheree Berry Paper and Design. The suite includes a velvet folio with a vintage city grid on the interior, chrome foil stamping, and a Sadelle's-inspired insert card. Details on the RSVP return envelope. The envelope features a faux postmark that reads "the very heart of it" as a nod to Frank Sinatra's song, New York, New York. The envelope is adorned with a stamp featuring the portrait of famed actress, Audrey Hepburn. Monogram created by Cheree Berry Paper and Design. The monogram combines a script "M" with a serif-font "B" to represent Maya and Ben.

M+B’s visual sensibility demanded nods to NYC more subtle than the yellow taxicab or Anthora coffee cup. With a vintage city grid map on the folio interior, a Sadelle’s-inspired insert card and a shadow of the skyline in day-of collateral, we honored one helluva town without feeling trite or touristy.

IT’S AUTUMN IN NEW YORK

Seasonal and sleek rose to a crescendo at the couple’s wedding ceremony and reception at The Glasshouse. The shades, shapes and textures that grounded our invitation suite also bridged the event branding with the ethereal, fall-forward event design. Velvet-bound programs complemented the velvet draping and seating. Rounded die-cut menus followed the oval curvature of the various seating layouts. And the familiar spectrum of grays served as a neutral canvas for the addition of rich autumnal tones to shine.

JUST THE TICKET FOR A MOOD SHIFT

A marked design departure, our collateral for the cabaret-themed after party personified Manhattan’s “City That Never Sleeps” moniker. Discreetly distributed during the reception, a black ticket stub emblazoned with red foil stamping teasingly told guests that the revelry  or rather a bit of debauchery –awaited them after dark and into the early hours.
