Lauren and Baxter

Wedding Brand: Montana, Rustic Materials & Mountain Views

DO I LOVE YOU, MY OH MY. RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH!

For Lauren and Baxter’s wedding weekend out west, Cheree Berry Paper & Design waded into the world of landscape (graphic) design to create a suite that celebrated the natural splendor of Big Sky.

But before the more intimate occasion in Montana, these two Tennesseans toasted their engagement at the family [estate/ home/ homestead] in Nashville. While held at a distinctly different destination, this garden party introduced the visual pillars that grounded L+B’s wedding season aesthetic: elevated, environmentally informed and individualized.

Featuring a custom chinoiserie pattern, trellis trim and soft verdant palette, the engraved engagement party invitation blended interior and exterior inspiration in a fresh way.

BIG SKY BIG DAY(S)

When the time came to turn our attention to Lauren and Baxter’s save the date and invitation, we first sought to refresh the standard wedding weekend event nomenclature. The more expressive itinerary, in tandem with watercolor vista vignettes, debuted in the pocket-sized save the date and set a sublime alpine scene.

We visually differentiated the identities of each of these events in the wedding invitation set with insert cards of varying shapes, sizes and styles. Stored in a branded leather roll-folio topped with a faux turkey feather, this saddlebag-like bundle added a rusticity to the refined wedding invitation. Dotted with images of ponderosa pines, peaks and the cowpokes of yesteryear, our design for L+B would make anyone yearn for Yellowstone Club’s wide open spaces.

We brought the high-touch to the high altitude. From bandanas and branded hangtags handtied to mini jute totes to a secondary elk antler emblem to personalized pennants arranged in Mindy Rice’s joyful floral creations, we elevated each day-of detail.

It is only true artists that can take Tennessee and Montana and combine the two in such a natural way that perfectly conveys the ultimate sense of place! Thank you Cheree Berry and the whole team!! You are the best!

PUTTING THE “ENVIRONMENT” IN “ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN”

“When I looked I knew I might never again see so much of the earth so beautiful.” The stirring quote from Norman Maclean’s seminal work A River Runs Through It that we introduced in the wedding invitation ultimately inspired our immersive escort installation. An eclectic collection of antique binoculars beckoned guests to stop and drink in the breathtaking backdrop. Escort pockets not only presented partygoers with their table assignments, but also with a local pressed wildflower and a fun fact about Montana’s native flora, allowing all to take a small piece of this land with them.

Linen-bound booklets embellished with platinum foil and feather fishing flies made for quite the alluring wedding dinner menu. But the biggest splash of Lauren and Baxter’s big day may have been the giddy-up a-go-go Après Party. When the sun’s away, the rhinestone cowboys and cowgirls will play!
