Elizabeth and Liam

Paris in the spring, love is in the air

Elizabeth and Liam searched the world over for a perfect wedding destination where city energy and country tranquility reigned side by side. Mais bien sûr, the answer was the City of Love and Lights! With the location locked, the couple called on Cheree Berry Paper & Design to bridge the gap between these juxtapositions and lend a certain je ne sais quoi to their visual identity. Et voilà, we created a sensibility that was all at once splendor and softness, classical and contemporary, cosmopolitan and pastoral.

LE BRANDING

Our branding for E+L was equal parts regal and ethereal. Simple script initials made for a malleable monogram we could reinterpret according to event. A crown inspired by Hôtel de Crillonthe couple’s favorite place in Paris – for example, oftentimes topped the monogram or featured as a mark on its own.

We established a sense of seasonality across the suite with our pastel palette. Whether applied to the watercolor illustrations or the recurring checkerboard pattern, the springtime bouquet of sage, lavender and blushing rose alluded to both the bride’s love of gardens and the wedding venue’s magnificent grounds.

BIG DAY À LA FRANÇAIS

Parisian landmarks, le Tricolore, croissants, an existential canine our infusion of familiar French symbolism was enough to make anyone say, “Ooh la la!”

ART DE VIVRE

Our wedding invitation design was art de vivre meets joie de vivre with sumptuous silk and moiré materials, ornate debossed borders and gold foil adding a lavishness to the overall playfulness.

When you’re saying “I do” against a backdrop as singularly stunning as Château de Villette, a historical landmark deemed the Little Versailles, you give the venue its due!  Opening the wrap of the chateau’s grand façade was like unlocking a door to the rococo world of your dreams full of illustrative homages to the André Leon Nôtre-designed parterre garden and the sculptures and fleurs found there. We even planted a few easter eggs with the roses, an image Elizabeth incorporated into each of her weekend outfits. See all the bride’s looks in the Over the Moon feature.

The team at Cheree Berry made my dreams come true with their thoughtful ideas, attention to detail and so much hard work – their fun personalities were just an extra bonus during this process! From building an incredible and easy-to-use website to curating the chicest welcome bag, CBP took my (many) requests and ran with them. And I could not be more thankful. Every toothpick, matchbook and napkin told a story and were the talk of our wedding. I have so much love for the CBP team and what they created – truly the best of the best!

Elizabeth Stone Flaherty
Bonjour, Paris!

Something sweet, something salty, something bready, something bubbly! We helped E+L welcome their guests with a selection of French delicacies – namely baguettes and champagne! – all packaged in a branded canvas tote perfect for a trip to the market.

A SEINE-SATIONAL SCENE

It’s impossible to outshine Girafe’s epic view of the Eiffel Tower, but our designs for E+L’s rehearsal dinner met the moody moment. We introduced a trifecta of drink tags, cocktail napkins and matchboxes, which became standard collateral components for every event that followed. And that petit clover-colored velvet menu with a mounted place card two words: très chic!

TINIS AND TOPIARIES

Drawing on Perruche’s vibrant palette and whimsicality, our designs for Elizabeth’s bridal luncheon were a drastic departure from the rest of the weekend. But in keeping with the underlying garden theme, we trimmed topiaries into mascots that gave major French-girls-who-lunch vibes – cocktails included of course – and mingled with the rooftop restaurant’s resident parakeet.

A FÊTE FIT FOR MARIE ANTOINETTE

The welcome fête at Hôtel de Crillon transported guests back in time to the era of 18th century grandeur. Partygoers reveled under frescoed ceilings and marbled arcades as attendants floated around the room brandishing our EL enamel pins and tea towels that complemented the gilded moldings.

VIVE LES FLAHERTYS!

Château de Villette showed off on Elizabeth and Liam’s wedding day. Easton Events wanted the lakeside reception following the garden ceremony to feel like a natural extension of both the exquisite setting and the château’s décor. With touches like a checkerboard dance floor and upholstery tassels attached to the dinner menus, we helped bring an elevated interior quality to the all-al fresco affair.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS

The Americans in Paris might not have known how to parlez français, but they were fluent in how to party français. Embroidered berets, baguette limbo, a spoof on the pouf, and enough champagne to fill the Seine – the boisterous after party received nothing but rave reviews.
